The sunshine came out for us on a beautiful Sydney winter’s week end.
Saturday saw a dedicated band of helpers shovelling and wheelbarrowing composted soil from one of our sponsors, ANL.
The result was a pleasing colour palette of rich greens against dark chocolate brown. Now our espaliered trees and side vegetable garden can really take off.
Sunday, and Rachel again entertained and informed us all about composting and worm farming.
We set up our wormfarm and it will be looked after by Yalith and Keshava.
Great news for the Northern Beaches with the new community garden in Griffith St, Balgowlah set to open soon. A new community garden is proposed for Seaforth. The Kangeroo St Community Garden group in Manly are nearly ready to present their design to Manly Council. The Pittwater community garden group have been busy setting up their garden at Pittwater High.
It is slowly becoming a reality – a community garden within walking distance of everyone.
